Welcome to Reo Visa and Immigration

Are you a recognised world leader in a particular industry or profession? Are you a ‘rising star’ or an emerging leader, showing a lot of promise in a particular field? Then you may be eligible for a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa. These are issued to those with exceptional talent in Science, Humanities, Engineering, Medicine, Digital Technology or the Arts.

The UK government recognises the need for bringing in and nurturing exceptional talent from around the world, to further enrich the UK. They also recognise the need for as little economic restriction as possible for those people whilst here. That is why this visa allows holders to carry out paid and voluntary work, be self-employed and change jobs without notifying the Home Office. With this visa, you can also travel abroad and return to the UK, as well as bring family members with you.

For those wishing to enter on this visa, you will need to be sponsor by the designated competent body for your field. This could be Arts Council England or the Royal Academy of Engineering. They will decide whether you classify as a world-leading talent and, once approved, you can start your application.

Our immigration lawyers can help you successfully gain your Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa. We can assess your eligibility, help you obtain an official recommendation and perform a full document check. One of our lawyers can also provide you with a Letter of Representation. This letter presents your case and its merits, referencing any UK immigration laws relevant to your application. What is a Tier 1 General Visa?

If you are a highly skilled worker wanting to look for work or self-employment and business opportunities from within the UK without a sponsor, you can apply for a Tier 1 General Visa. This category is now closed to applicants outside the UK and to migrants who are already here in most other immigration categories.

However, there are limited circumstances where you may still be able to extend your stay in the UK under the Tier 1 (General) Category of the points-based system. This includes if you are a highly skilled migrant, a self-employed lawyer, a writer, composer or artist, or if you are part of the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP). Your total point score must be 95 points (100 for any other eligible category) based on your age, qualifications, previous earnings, UK experience, English Language ability and maintenance funds.

Am I eligible for a Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa?

Wanting to extend your stay in the UK after graduating appeals to many international students who have already built a life here. The Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa category allows non-European MBA and other graduates (and overseas graduates who have been identified by UK Trade Investment (UKTI) as elite global graduate entrepreneurs) to extend their stay after graduation to establish one or more businesses in the UK.

Please note, however, that there is an annual limit for this visa category (2,000 places for 2015-2016).

To apply under this category you must score a total of 95 points, which in part must be achieved by a letter of endorsement from a UK higher education institution or UKTI.

If you currently have permission to stay in the UK under a different immigration category you may be able to switch to or from a Tier 1 category from inside the UK. An application for a High-Value Migrant Tier 1 Visa can be complex and using the services of an immigration expert is highly recommended.
